Description

A massive necklace of thirty-two barrel-shaped rock crystal beads with a pendant at the center of the necklace. The pendant is 4.8 cm in height, 2.25 cm in width at the widest point, and 1.83 cm in thickness. The diameter of the drill hole is 4mm. The barrel shaped beads graduate slightly towards the back of the necklace. The largest is 2 cm in length, and 1.4 cm in width. The smallest is 1.3 cm in length and 1.05 cm in width. The drill holes of the barrel beads are cone shaped and drilled from both sides until the apex of the cones meets in the center. The beads are said to be from Peru. The oldest culture, the Chavin, originated four thousand years ago. Later, the Moche in the north and the Wari in the south both formed distinct cultures. More research will be needed for us to place the origins of these beads more precisely.
